Beijing NED Ltd.launched two holographic waveguide products

After years of development, both software and hardware ecology of Virtual Reality (VR) have gradually improved and got mature. The shipment of consumer VR equipment is close to 10 million this year, and it is likely to reach 20 million next year. However, comparing to the fast development of VR, the whole Augmented Reality (AR) industry has just entered the fast lane. The biggest obstacles to the development of AR is the difficulty of technology realization.

In order to solve the problem, optical designers have tried many solutions, such as prism, freeform, waveguide etc. Among these solutions, due to big FOV, high transmittance, big eyebox, thinness and controllable cost, holographic waveguide is considered as one of the cost-effective solution for consumer grade AR equipment.

Recently, Beijing NED Ltd.launched two holographic waveguide products, one is two-dimensional monochromatic holographic waveguide, the other is one-dimensional full-color holographic waveguide. We believe that with the development of R&D, processing and material, AR glasses will no longer a concept product, but will become affordable and enter normal people’s daily life.
